The Lingkubang village tagal was

Officially Established on June 6, 2001

The inauguration of this tagal was officiated by Haji Idris Yahya, the District Officer of Kota Belud, at the Mini Dewan Lingkubang, Kota Belud. Tagal tourism began when many visitors wanted to see the fish bred in this tagal.

Furthermore, the natural beauty is still preserved, for example, the greenery of the wood provides shade and is suitable for relaxing with family.

Additionally, the flat terrain along the riverbank, as well as the clear and clean river, attract visitors for swimming and engaging in various activities at this location.

Furthermore, the strategic location of Tagal Tourism is near the Ranau By Pass highway. It is approximately 25 km from Kota Belud town and about 77 km from Kota Kinabalu.

Therefore, in March 2014, the Tagal management began charging entrance fees to visitors. Throughout 2014, the highest number of visitors was in August, with a total of 4687 people from both domestic and international origins.

Tagal Tourism was registered with the Malaysian Cooperative Commission on March 20, 2015, under the name KOPERASI PELANCONGAN TAGAL KAMPUNG LINGKUBANG KOTA BELUD BERHAD (KPTL).

The earthquake on June 15, 2015, had an impact on the landscape, causing KPTL to be closed for about a year from the date of the incident. Similarly, the Covid-19 pandemic caused Tagal tourism to be closed at the end of 2019 until 2020 and resumed operations in 2021 with SOPs from the Ministry of Health. Currently, KPTL has been operating as usual from 2022 until now.
